The
word “Amen”, usually followed by an exclamation mark, might be translated “Yes
indeed!” or “Absolutely!” or “No question about it!”. It’s a word of
affirmation and assertion, a forceful pronouncement, a declaration of a deeply
held belief. If someone said, for instance, “Thoughts are far stronger than
things,” I would say “Amen!” If someone said,” “Good is far stronger than
evil,” I would say “Amen!” If someone said, “The present is far stronger than
the past or the future,” I would say, or maybe shout, “Amen!”
