On the table
an amaryllis flower
found a way
to work a miracle,
and the furnace
in the cellar
was working
its customary miracle
of making comfort
for a fortunate couple
who were quietly loving
being in their 70’s
in their sunroom
on a frozen day
with a flower
for a friend.
